Solution: install of Samsung Smart View, add media folder to smart view. Choose on tv Smart View (of pc) as source. This enables the same file and folder browsing, but this time with subtitles working while playing movies. Filenames of subtitle file has be the same as video file, I presume. Kind Regards,
All my subtitles were working perfect on my 10 year old samsung smart tv running the samsung E/F series profile. Things I've tried and checked:-Ran subtitles thourgh SRTwiz , didnt help.-Subtitles are correctly named.-Saved subtitles as UTF8.-Tried loads of different profiles with no avail.-Embedded subtitles also dont work (muxed with mkvtoolnix).

I can confirm that for me too, iTunes and Apple TV seem to have separate preferences for subtitles. Starting on the Mac and continuing on the Apple TV
